Official Grid for the United States Department of Agriculture, Risk Management Agency, Vegetation Index Insurance program (<http://www.rma.usda.gov/policies/ri-vi/index.html>). The grid represents an arbitrary placement of boundarys for the Vegetation Index product that encompasses 64 1km x 1 km Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) values in 14 day NDVI composites produced by the United States Geological Survey (<http://ivm.cr.usgs.gov/>)
Purpose:
Grid established to set boundaries for United States Department of Agriculture, Risk Management Agency, Vegetation Index Insurance program (<http://www.rma.usda.gov/policies/ri-vi/index.html>). Grid cells represent a unique area where an index is calculated for insurance purposes.
